Joy Kuhl is an IAF certified professional facilitator. She
brings creativity and depth to Conflict Management, Negotiation & Mediation having an accomplished background with over 15
years of experience in facilitation, training, and in forming successful business relationships within a number of industries, such as health care, information technologies,
group purchasing and economic development.
Joy serves her clients in the role of facilitator, trainer and consultant. As a facilitator she designs and leads sessions in strategic planning, project planning, information needs analysis, issue resolution and more. She also facilitates recurring industry meetings for several organizations.
Prior to joining Conflict Management, Joy spent nearly four years facilitating a Chief Information Officer's Forum for the Child Health Corporation of America (CHCA) - a business alliance of 41 children's hospitals. In addition to facilitating the Forum, she negotiated group purchasing agreements to help the hospitals collectively save money on IT expenses. During Joy's tenure, purchasing volume through the IT contract portfolio grew over 70 percent.
Her professional experience includes three years as Manager, Client Services for Compuware Corporation's eBusiness Services division where she managed a number of health care initiatives for clients such as Johns Hopkins, the Jewish Heart & Lung Institute, HealthNet-Kansas City and Audio-Digest Foundation. In addition, she negotiated relationships with corporations such as Reader's Digest, Sprint, Sprint PCS, Andersen Consulting and Hallmark Cards to assist them with online strategies and solutions. She also developed and conducted the company's first strategic planning training course for managers in the eBusiness Services division.
In the early stages of her career, Joy spent three years with the Kansas City Area Development Council as Manager, Strategic Marketing where she led the organization's Internet marketing initiatives and developed and implemented strategic communications plans for attracting business to the bistate KC area. Successes during her time with KCADC included attraction of the Kansas Speedway, a Harley-Davidson manufacturing plant, and the Midwest-U.S. Japan Conference, a prestigious gathering of 500+ U.S. and Japanese senior executives. Funds were scarce in this non profit organization, and Joy quickly became an asset largely for her ability to form meaningful partnerships with local businesses to creatively accomplish goals.
Joy earned a Masters in Business Administration from Baker University in Kansas and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Kansas. She is also a graduate of the Walt Disney World College Program with an emphasis in Disney management philosophy. Speaking engagements include presentations for the International Association of Business Communicators, the Missouri Economic Development Council and a Global eBusiness Conference.
